Jonathan's Landing Long Range Plan Update

Jonathans Landing Real Estate

The JL Long Range Plan Committee has a great undertaking for a 20 year plan to enhance Jonathan's Landings visual appeal. The committee has been provided with a conceptual design from Coutler & Hearing, which is the firm that JL retained for the long range plan.

This design includes re-facing the guardhouses, re-doing landscaping to improve appearance down Port Dickinson Drive and Captain Kirle Drive creating a grand entrance to the Clubhouse and Tennis Center. The Guard houses exterior will be covered in conquina, a limestone composed chiefly of shell fragments. The landscape will be designed in the “Old Florida” style, running from the North gate and Central gate and down Captain Kirle Drive.

They tree chosen to line the boulevard is Live Oak. This tree will create a canopy above the road in years to come. This will also unify it with Casseekey Island Road, as this is the type of tree that Alcoa planted there. The Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club donated several Live Oaks that were planted along the cart path near the Fitness Center.

A signage design was also submitted by Coutler and Hearing. There are signs for Entrance Signs and Village Signs. There are also designs to improve the aesthetics of bridges. The POA Board has all intentions of accomplishing this plan without the use of additional funding.
